Primary tasks of the Office of Global Relations are as follows:
internationalization of the University and promotion of international cooperation;
strategic partnership and contract management with strategic partners of the University;
creating opportunities and supporting academic mobility;
Internationalization for NU goes beyond student and faculty mobility covering activity related to the academic, research and innovation activities; administrative excellence, cross-border collaborations; being globally connected and competitive; having internationalized and developed relevant curriculum and research; possessing necessary language skills, area and regional studies expertise; bringing the University to the international education and research arena; recognition of the quality of NU internationally and attracting international students and scholars; and streamlining governance structure, campus environment, support services and policies.
NU’s global engagement is defined by the meaningful, mutually beneficial, and high-impact relationships with universities, research institutes, laboratories, clinical sites, and industry across the world.
These partnerships and networks open up unique global opportunities for our community, enabling our students, faculty, researchers, and staff to thrive in times of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity and achieve their full potential.
NU provides its students with a wide range of opportunities that can enable them to collaborate and communicate in an international/intercultural environment, to understand international contexts and trends, etc. Along with the internationalization at-home strategies, NU also tries to instill global traits through student exchanges and summer schools.
NU is honoured to host visits by distinguished guests: high-ranking political and public figures, heads of states, Parliaments and international organizations. Since 2010, NU hosted over 30 distinguished guests. Among them Xi Jinping, Prince Albert II, John Kerry, David Cameron, Shinzo Abe, Dmitry Medvedev, Narendra Modi, Christine Lagarde, Catherine Ashton, Suma Chakrabarti and others.
