The top prize was claimed by students from the Kazakhstan Finance Students Association (KFSA), while second and third places went to teams from the NU Student Investment Fund (NUSIF).

In a landmark event for Kazakhstan and Central Asia, Nazarbayev University (NU) held the prestigious NU Regional Bloomberg Trading Challenge, marking the first time the competition has been hosted in the region. Initiated by NU's Library, the large-scale project fostered collaboration between the university's academic schools, student clubs, and Bloomberg.

The competition drew 200 participants from various NU schools, providing students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real-world investing using Bloomberg Terminals. Competing with their peers, they honed their financial skills and deepened their understanding of market dynamics.

The project garnered strong support from deans and professors of NU's Graduate School of Business and the Department of Economics in the School of Sciences and Humanities, alongside university staff. Bloomberg played a key role by delivering both online and in-person training sessions while also supplying prizes for the winners.

The top prize was claimed by students from the Kazakhstan Finance Students Association (KFSA), while second and third places went to teams from the NU Student Investment Fund (NUSIF). Winners also earned the chance to participate in global trading competitions on the Bloomberg platform, boosting their international standing.

The Global Bloomberg Trading Challenge 2024 kicks off on October 7 and runs through November 15. Student teams worldwide will compete, using Bloomberg terminals to analyze market fundamentals, develop return-generating strategies, and execute trades in a simulated environment.
