The forum focused on "A Fresh Outlook on Drug Discovery and Personalized Medicine," offering a hands-on workshop and brainstorming sessions designed to explore cutting-edge advancements in healthcare.
The forum brought together around 30 students from AUA member universities, including South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, and others. NU was represented by Ilyas Iznat and Diana Bekeshova from the School of Sciences and Humanities, Altair Kossymbayev and Dosbol Erlan from the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences, and Daiana Naiman from the School of Medicine.
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to attend the AUA Youth Forum 2024. The forum broadened my understanding of personalized medicine, drug discovery, and quantitative biology. I gained valuable insights into single-cell level heterogeneities and how they influence cellular outcomes through mathematical models. I also learned about 3D cell cultures and Organ-on-Chip models, which mimic tissue microenvironments for translational research. This experience not only expanded my academic knowledge but also reinforced the importance of cross-cultural collaboration in tackling global challenges,” shared Daiana Naiman.
The AUA Youth Forum 2024 was an enriching event, offering a mix of lectures, lab visits, student group discussions, hands-on training, and a city tour of Mumbai. The program focused on cutting-edge advancements in personalized medicine and drug discovery. The forum also featured industry visits, giving students the opportunity to observe how these advanced technologies are being applied in real-world settings. Through these activities, participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical insights into how these innovations are transforming healthcare and drug discovery. Overall, the experience highlighted the importance of cultural exchange and academic collaboration in advancing global healthcare solutions.
