Share this articleThe IV Young Researchers Alliance (YRA) Forum, held at NU, brought together about 500 participants, including young scientists, experts and business representatives from Kazakhstan and abroad. The theme of the forum was "Science Driven Economy".
The forum featured thematic sessions addressing key topics such as the application of artificial intelligence, innovations in agricultural sector, breakthroughs in biomedicine, the transformation of the educational environment, and support for young scientists. These discussions captivated participants, fostering a constructive dialogue among scientists, business leaders, and government representatives.
Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan's Parliament, delivered a speech highlighting the strategic importance of science and a science-driven economy for Kazakhstan. Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the critical role of scientific innovation in achieving sustainable development.
In his address, NU President, Professor Waqar Ahmad, underscored the forum's role in strengthening connections between science and industry while advancing scientific research in Kazakhstan.
“At NU, we firmly adhere to the principle of educating a new generation of leaders in science and innovation. We are convinced that promoting cooperation between the academic community, industry, and the state is the basis for building a knowledge-based economy. This forum is vivid evidence of the huge potential of young researchers in promoting not only Kazakhstan, but also world progress,” said NU President Professor Ahmad.
The forum welcomed experts from various countries, including Spain, Saudi Arabia, Finland, and the United States, representing renowned institutions such as HM CINAC, CSIC-UPM, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, the University of Oulu, and Harvard Medical School.
A significant outcome of the forum was the development of a resolution with recommendations to support young scientists, enhance international collaboration, and strengthen partnerships between science and business.
The event concluded with a unique cultural and scientific program titled Musical Neuro-Dialogues, part of the Cajal Meetings, featuring performances by Guglielmo Fofani and Luca Bagallia. This innovative show integrated culture and science, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in the modern scientific ecosystem.
The forum was organized by the Young Researchers Alliance with support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev University's Social Development Fund, and Nazarbayev University. Key partners included the Expert Club of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Spain in Kazakhstan, and the Council of Young Scientists under the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.
